This CD presents two masters of the Iranian art of improvisation, Hossein Alizâdeh and Madjid Khaladj. Hossein Alizâdeh is considered one of the great innovators in traditional Persian music. The authenticity of his style and the beauty of his spontaneous creations have earned Madjid Khaladj a place alongside the great masters of Persian classical music and made him one of the most important figures in Eastern percussion music. The târ, the most important of the lutelike instruments in Iranian music, and the tombak drum with its complicated shape, produce a musical intensity that is inconceivable to those unfamiliar with the traditional art of improvisation.
The CD was awarded the Quarterly German Record Critics' Award!
