Lucier, Alvin
Alvin Lucier (*1931 in Nashua NH) is one of the most prolifi c composers of New Music in the twentieth century. Lucier studied music with Aaron Copland at the Tanglewood Center 1958–59; in the 1960s he was active as a choir conductor and taught at Brandeis University MA; since 1970 he has been a professor at Wesleyan University in Middletown CT. Some of the most important composers of New Music – several of whom are on this CD – are among his former students.
