Hirsch, Michael
Michael Hirsch was born 1958 in Munich. He lives in Berlin since 1981. Since 1976 he is working continually as a composer. As a member of several ensembles for new music he gave numerous concerts and did a lot of radio-recordings. Michael Hirsch has collaborated with Dieter Schnebel, Josef Anton Riedl, Helmut Lachenmann and others, and he has worked as Composition Servitor of the town of Munich, member of Freyer-Ensemble, actor, and assistant of the Director Achim Freyer at the Vienna Burgtheater.
Works of Michael Hirsch were performed on many international stages and festivals: Donaueschinger Musiktage, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Klangaktionen, Musica Viva (Munich), Berlin in Moskau, XIII Cigle de musica del segle XX, Barcelona, Dresdner Tage für zeitgenössische Musik, MaerzMusik (Berliner Festspiele), Musik-Biennale Berlin. Michael Hirsch is honoured with the Elisabeth Schneider Composition Prize 2001 and the Busoni Composition Prize 2005 of the Academy of Arts in Berlin. Since 2002 his complete works are published by Edition Juliane Klein, Berlin.
