| Georg Sachse (born in 1962) cut his musical teeth in diverse jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, and folk music ensembles. He has studied musicology, pedagogy, theology, philosophy, ethnology, German literature, and Japanology at the universities in Cologne and Bonn, and completed his Magister Artium in phonetics at Cologne University. His interdisciplinary dissertation on the American composer Steve Reich was published by the Bosse publishers in the series, Kölner Beitrage zur Musikwissenschaft [Cologne Essays on Musicology]. At the university in Cologne, he is a lecturer at the Institute for Linguistics and Phonetics; he also gives instrumental instruction and works as a speaker for the TestDa Institute and the Hagen open university (participating in numerous CD, DVD, and television productions). Sachse concertises in various ensembles and appears a soloist (as a singer/songwriter and for ambient/electronica projects). A further area of emphasis in his activities is music pedagogy with children and young people (for example, his children’s musical Sternenstaub [Star Dust], the youth choir “ConTakt” and the children’s choir “AkkuRATH”). |
