Bledsoe, Helen
Helen Bledsoe was born in 1956 in Aiken, South Carolina, and has lived in Europe since 1994. Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Indiana University, Banff Centre for the Arts and the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. She also studied classical South Indian music in Bangalore. First prize in the 1996 Gaudeamus Interpreters’ Competition, followed by an international career as a soloist and chamber musician. Bledsoe teaches at the Bremer Hochschule für Künste and publishes articles in special interest magazines. Member of musikFabrik since 1997 and of the blaauw ensemble since 2002.
