Siebert, Isolde
Isolde Siebert studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau and completed her degree in vocal performance with honors. After her studies she became an ensemble member of the Stadttheater Basel, and then sang at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and was subsequent engaged at the Staatstheater Hannover as a lyric coloratura soprano. Her international breakthrough came in the role of Queen of the Night at the Bregenz Festival in 1986. Since then she has sung in operas and concerts throughout Europe and in South America. Since 1990 she has been working freelance, increasingly involved with contemporary music, and has performed in premières at the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the Musik-Biennale in Berlin, and in Wien Modern.
