MacLow, Jackson
Jackson MacLow (*1922 in Chicago, †2004 in New York) was a poet and performance artist. He graduated in 1943 from the University of Chicago, where he studied ancient Greek literature and philosophy. From 1957 to 1980 he worked as a writer for encyclopedias; from 1964 onward, he was part of the New York avant-garde music and performance arts scene. From 1981 until his death, he collaborated with Anne Tardos (born in Cannes) who came to New York in 1966 and gained fame for her multichannel video works.
