Fleischmann, Thomas
Thomas Fleischmann (bass) studied German literature, music education, and singing in Stuttgart. He has performed in the opera companies of St. Gallen, Wiesbaden, Brussels, Salzburg, Berlin, and Copenhagen. His international Wagner debut was in 1998, in a production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Teatro Nacional in Lisbon. From 1998 to 2004, he was a permanent soloist in the ensemble of the opera in Darmstadt. Since then, he has performed at the Vienna Festival, in the opera houses of Mannheim and Essen, as well as at the Belgian Summer Opera Festival. His wide-ranging repertoire includes roles such as Sarastro, Figaro, Kaspar, Nick Shadow, van Bett, as well as King Marke. A well-rounded performer, Fleischmann also sings recitals featuring both classical and contemporary repertoire, and is active as an oratorio and concert singer both in Germany and abroad.
