Satter, Wieland

The bass baritone Wieland Satter first studied music education before devoting himself to singing at the Hochschule for Music in Weimar. During this time, he also took part in master classes with Hans Hotter, Kurt Moll, and Walter Berry. His first professional engagement was at the opera in Linz; further guest engagements followed in Regensburg and Kaiserslautern. His repertoire includes roles such as Philipp II (Don Carlos), Mephisto (Margarethe), and Leporello (Don Giovanni). From 2005-2008, Wieland Satter was a member of the ensemble of the State Theater in Nuremberg, where he sang Karl V. in Don Carlos, Lilaque le fils in Henze’s Boulevard Solitude, Caspar in Der Freischütz, Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, and Masetto in Don Giovanni.
